Account book collection, 1776-1930.

Account books dating primarily from the 19th century and relating to business life in Orange County. Of note are prescription books from several pharmacies, 1871-1930; and records of wages, store accounts, receipts, invoices, and production at the Southfield Furnace, a local iron foundry, 1776-1867. Other businesses included are the New York, Lake Erie, and Western Railroad, the dairy industry, and local dry goods and general stores.
